The Tatra Mountains Cycling Route: nature, history and culture
The cycling route around the Tatra Mountains holds a significant place in the hierarchy of achievements for most Polish cyclist-tourists. Many of us embark on this journey at the beginning of our cycling tourism adventures, while for others, like me, it takes nearly thirty years to finally circumnavigate the Tatras - Giewont, Gerlach, Krywań, and the entire Tatra company. What additionally motivated me was the opening of a new, excellent bike path from Nowy Targ to Slovakia - a section of the Route around the Tatras, constructed as part of a long-term Polish-Slovak project. I spent three wonderful days cycling around the most beautiful Polish mountains on almost the shortest possible loop - one of the variants of the new bike route around the Tatras.
