Jura Cycling Route: a summer trip through western Switzerland
Jura, or the Switzerland I didn't expect. That sentence could sum up our 300-kilometer journey through the Swiss Jura - perhaps the least-known face of Switzerland. The Jura Cycling Route, one of the nine major cycling routes in Switzerland, guided us through the gentle elevations of the mountain range that borders Switzerland to the west. Marked with number 7, the route begins in Nyon by the beautiful Lake Geneva, which we reached via the Alpine Lake Route. The Jura Route ends in Basel, where, two years ago, we concluded our ride along the Rhine Cycling Route.
